The first pencil traces on paper are like kindling fire with two sticks. I might have to erase and restart a couple times, but once the fire is made we have the big bang. The rest is just joyful consequence. Big formats like this might take many seatings spread through weeks. As my music teacher once said, “get the first note right and the rest will come”.
