speak-low

Watercolor, 53x26cm. Sold.

In music, an Adagio is a tempo to be played slowly. Some adagios from Barber, Rachmaninoff, Albinoni, and Bach are famous for their breathtaking beauty — the composer seems to make an extra effort to reach something divine. An adagio is also a circus act performed by a pair of acrobats that keeps the audience in awe for the perfection of the movements. I like to have these concepts in mind while trying to find the perfect composition for 2 actors. I close my eyes and try to imagine the motion, I move my hands in the air. Then I let the pencil dance on the paper.
